At St. George’s School, we believe students are best able to learn, grow, and contribute to their community when they feel supported, connected, and cared for. The Junior School is supported by two dedicated counsellors who provide safe, respectful, and confidential spaces for students to navigate emotional, personal, and peer-related challenges. Working closely with students, families, and faculty, our counsellors offer compassionate, individualized support that helps students feel understood, supported, and equipped to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Students may access counselling support for a range of social, emotional, or mental health concerns, as well as during times of change, stress, or loss. Our counsellors work alongside students to help them better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, develop healthy coping strategies, and build the confidence and resilience needed to navigate challenges both in and beyond the classroom.
In addition to individual support, our counsellors collaborate closely with faculty to foster student wellness through classroom learning experiences and age-appropriate conversations. These opportunities help students develop self-awareness, self-management, self-regulation strategies, social awareness, relationship skills, and problem-solving abilities that support their overall well-being and growth throughout their school journey.
