Dr. Odion Kalaci, President of the BC Pediatric Society, presented the medical evidence linking increased screen time to negative effects on health and well-being. Senior School Principal, Mr. Len Gurr, shared how St. George's updated Cell Phone Use Policy — aligned with the BC Ministry of Education's provincial direction — is guiding the school toward a phone-free environment. The session included practical tips for supporting phone-free habits at school and at home, along with a discussion of laptop use.

Guest speaker Dr. Ben Sporer explored what high-performance environments can teach families and educators about supporting every boy's growth, resilience, and success. We learned how performance is an output, not an outcome; uncovered the “Core Four” performance factors; and how to implement simple steps with our sons in order to rethink their performance goals. We also learned about the importance of partnering with our sons, rather than directing them, on their journey to personal success. A panel of experienced St. George’s Music and Athletics staff and two inspiring Saints students also shared their perspectives on achieving excellence and how St. George’s School supports our boys on this journey.

Mr. Ian Chisholm, Co-Founder of leadership development firm Roy Group, joined Head of School Mr. David Young for an interactive evening on the practice of mentorship. Through hands-on exercises in active listening, the audience explored what separates mentors from influencers - and how the best mentors combine a strong awareness of self with genuine, sustained attention to the experience of others.

Mr. Jesse Miller of Safer Schools Together helped Saints families navigate today's media maze, focusing on online influence and extortion. Joined by a panel of St. George's media experts, the interactive discussion covered media literacy, high-risk behaviours, and current issues in technology use.
