After graduating from St. George’s in 1998, I went to Huron College at The University of Western Ontario and received my HBA in History. After graduation from Western, I moved to Toronto and began studying in the Masters in Management and Professional Accounting (MMPA) program at The Rotman School of Business at The University of Toronto. After completing this, I began working with PwC LLP in Toronto. While at PwC, I earned my CA. From 2004-2012, I worked in Assurance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Debt Finance and Restructuring. At PwC, I developed a strong foundation in the language of business and learned a great deal about customer service, hard work, and a quality product. In 2009, I was selected to participate in Genesis Park, a 5 month Global Leadership Development program in Berlin, Germany.
In 2012, I moved from Toronto to Vancouver. Shortly after this, I made the decision to leave PwC and began working as the Director of Administration and Development with my family’s business, The Care Group (tcgcare.com). The Care Group owns and operates nursing homes in British Columbia. My role includes management of the care homes as well as new development. I work closely with our care teams to support the delivery of excellent care to our residents and have a passion for quality care and developing great care providers. I am also the manager of our construction business, McIntosh Construction Group (mcgbuilt.com), which focusses on developing care homes.
I currently sit on the Emerging Issues Committee of the BC Care Providers Association, am a past Board Member of the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC) and past Board Chair of Downsview Services for Seniors in Toronto.
I like Skiing in the Winter/Spring, fishing and boating in the Summer, and hunting in the Fall.
I want to help and support young Georgians to be their best. We can all use someone to bounce a new idea off of, to open a door, to make an introduction, and to provide a little unbiased perspective and advise.
