Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, I spent my school days from age 9 to high school graduation at St. George's, a private all boys’ school. After high school, I attended the University of Western Ontario where I graduated with a BA in Psychology. The varied interests across academics, arts, sports, and world & cultural exploration, which my early education and parents instilled in me, continued at Western and to this day.
After graduating from UWO, I spent the next 10 years in the advertising industry in Toronto working for BBDO/OMD, digital out-of-home start-ups, Canada’s two largest publishers: The Globe and Mail and CanWest MediaWorks (publisher of the National Post and most major daily broadsheets in Canada), and finally found myself at Expedia Canada. At Expedia, I was responsible for developing and executing the media monetization strategy for Expedia.ca and Hotels.ca properties.
Two years later, I was asked to do the same in Asia Pacific. I moved to Hong Kong in January of 2010 and headed up Expedia’s APAC Media Solutions business. After two years, I moved to a local start-up mutli-media company as Director of Sales. There I was responsible for developing an integrated sales strategy across multiple business units. After realizing that this company and I weren’t a great fit, I left and targeted my search focus on three companies. A few months later I got my first choice with Google and moved to Singapore in January 2013.
At Google, I’ve been in two sales roles, Industry Manager and Regional Manager, responsible for driving advertising revenue across tech, telco, and auto clients in the former and managing five of Google’s most strategic regional client relationships in the later. Currently, I am the APAC Mobile Commercialisation lead for DoubleClick, Google’s programmatic advertising platform responsible for bringing new products and features to market and influencing the roadmap for product development.
