Important Information For Senior School Parents

Regarding The Upcoming Student Wellness Survey

At St. George's School, we are deeply committed to fostering a supportive and thriving environment where every student can flourish. High levels of well-being have been linked to academic attainment, positive outcomes later in life, and increased levels of life satisfaction. To truly understand your child’s experiences and needs related to well-being at our School, we are conducting an anonymous Student Wellness Survey between October 7th–10th.

This survey will help us in understanding where we currently exceed, and where we can aim to improve and allocate resources. Once the data is collected, we will be calling for participation from various stakeholders, such as staff, faculty, students, and parents to help envision and implement a Wellness Program that truly serves the needs of St. George’s students.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via email at: [email protected].

— Mr. Dima Povalyaev, Vice-Principal, Student Wellness

A Journey To See Bard On The Beach:
Much Ado About Nothing

Last week, our Grade 11 Composition Honours and Grade 12 English Studies students enjoyed a wonderful trip to Bard on the Beach to see Much Ado About Nothing. Experiencing Shakespeare performed live — as it was always meant to be— brought the wit, humour, and energy of the play to life in a way that reading alone cannot capture. Students not only gained a deeper appreciation for Shakespeare’s language and characters but also saw firsthand how performance choices shape meaning. It was an engaging and memorable afternoon of theatre and learning.

Highlights From The Visual Arts Department's

September Exhibition

Our September Exhibition, titled Visual Learning, highlights how students in our studios engage with the intentional processes and outcomes that shape artistic growth. Making art is not accidental — it is a practice of developing technical skills while also cultivating imagination, reflection, and emotional connection.

As the American philosopher and educator Maxine Greene once observed, The Arts, it has been said, cannot change the world, but they may change human beings who might change the world.” She reminded us that imagination is “the capacity to reach beyond where we are, to open towards possibility.”

In our classrooms, this philosophy comes alive as students learn not only how to create, but also how to think critically about themselves and the world.

Greene also wrote, Without the ability to think about yourself, to reflect on your life, there’s really no awareness, no consciousness. Consciousness doesn’t come automatically; it comes through being alive, awake, curious, and often furious.”

Click here to learn more about the Visual Art on display at this exhibition.

The Visual Learning Exhibition will be on display in Tang Hall until October 3rd.
