Winter Trip To Martinique For

Grade 8–11 Students In January 2026

Are you interested in getting a bit of sunshine at the end of your Winter Break in January? Then we have the trip for you.

We are excited to offer this trip to Grade 8-11 students in January 2026 to the beautiful island of Martinique — a gorgeous Caribbean island that is also interestingly part of the European Union. This is a great place to practice your French language skills in real time, though you also do not need to speak French or be in a French Program to join us.

Drama 11 Shines At BC DramaFest

This past weekend, our talented Drama 11 class, guided by the ever-dedicated Mr. Jamie Donnici ‘11 and supported by our amazing technical theatre coordinator, Mr. Scott Zechner, had the unforgettable opportunity to participate in the BC National Theatre School Drama Fest — a province-wide celebration of student theatre.

The Drama Fest brings together secondary school students from across BC to showcase their productions, take part in top-notch workshops, and connect with others who share their passion for theatre. It’s a gathering of creativity, learning, and community, and our students made the most of every moment.

Our group had the incredible honour of performing The Killers, a powerful one-act adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s classic short story. With its sharp dialogue and tense atmosphere, the play explores themes of innocence and evil. Our students tackled this challenging piece with maturity and depth, bringing Hemingway’s words to life and captivating their audience. The group was commended by adjudicator Sara Holt for their stylized, noir take on the play.

Throughout the weekend, the students immersed themselves in enriching workshops, bonded with fellow theatre lovers, and represented our School with pride and professionalism. Their performance and participation reflected not only their hard work and passion but also the strength of our Theatre Program. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Donnici and Mr. Zechner for their incredible dedication, guidance, and unwavering support of our students and our program. To our Drama 11 students: you made us proud. You embraced the experience, supported one another, and grew as artists and as people. Bravo!

Don’t miss your chance to see The Killers performed by Drama 11 at our Senior Theatre Showcase on May 20th at 7:00 PM in the Senior School Auditorium in the Sung Family Performing Arts Centre, following The Pack, a heartwarming comedy performed by Drama 10 and written by Mr. Donnici. Admission is free.

Students Sleep Out For Covenant House

Last week, a dedicated group of students organized and participated in a Sleep Out to raise awareness and funds for youth experiencing homelessness. After hearing from a powerful guest speaker from Covenant House Vancouver — an organization that provides relentless support, absolute respect, and unconditional love to vulnerable youth — the students spent the night outside with only sleeping bags and a tarp. This experience gave them a small glimpse of the challenges faced by those living without shelter, and their efforts raised an impressive $845 for Covenant House.

Thank you to everyone who supported this meaningful initiative.
