Don't Miss Our Spring Concert:
Throwback Thursday!
We spent some time thinking about what to call this year’s concert. While none of the repertoire titles quite fit, we were drawn to the idea that the music we’re performing is tried and true, and that we are performing it here in the Auditorium of the Sung Family Performing Arts Centre in the Original St. George’s Senior School.
New things are exciting, but there’s something powerful about returning to tradition. Pieces like “Florentiner March” and “Canadian Folk Song Suite” are cornerstones of Wind Band repertoire. Their inclusion tonight reflects the enduring legacy of the St. George’s Music Program — music that has stood the test of time, much like the traditions we continue to uphold.
One such tradition is celebrating our graduating Senior Concert Band musicians. These young men have made incredible contributions to the music you will hear tonight, and their excellence will forever be a part of our program’s legacy.
But this performance is not only about our Senior students — it’s a celebration of every student’s musical journey. From our Grade 8s who began their Senior School experience just months ago, to the Grade 9s who have grown tremendously under Mr. Murray’s guidance, to the Junior and Senior Jazz Ensembles who showcase style and improvisation, and finally to our Grades 10, 11, and 12 students who have come together as an outstanding Senior Concert Band — we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
It has truly been a wonderful year, and we are thrilled to welcome you to our #ThrowbackThursday edition of the 2025 Spring Concert. Thank you to all parents and students for your continued support — it means the world to us.
Please note that the concert is being professionally recorded and photographed. We’ll be happy to share photos and a streaming link with you in the coming weeks after the concert.
Our School's Mathematics Program has seen remarkable success this year, with students achieving outstanding results in national and international competitions. Here are just some of the highlights so far.
Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge: Our students earned numerous Gold and Silver awards, and Grade 9 students Jack W. ‘28, and Ryan Z. ‘28 qualified for the prestigious Canadian Mathematical Olympiad.

University of Waterloo Contests (Pascal, Cayley, Fermat): Our students achieved eight perfect scores, ranking first provincially in all three contests. Nationally, we placed first in the Cayley and Fermat contests and secured a close second in the Pascal contest. Perfect score participants include: Marco Z. ‘28, Yuxin Z. ‘29, Brian S. ‘27, Ryan W. ‘27, Andy Y. ‘27, Peter C. ‘26, Oscar L. ‘27, and Jack W. ‘28.
Canadian National Math League: Our Grade 8 Team demonstrated the breadth of our talent by achieving first place in Canada.
The Mathematics Department is incredibly proud of these accomplishments and anticipates continued success. Congratulations to all the dedicated and brilliant students who contributed to these achievements!
