Doug Tennant is the Executive Director of Semiahmoo House Society (SHS) and Peninsula Estates Housing Society (PEHS), not-for-profit organizations that support people who have disabilities to live full and valued lives in their community. He is a strong believer that creativity develops spaces where people of different abilities can thrive together. One of the projects that he is currently leading is the construction of an affordable and inclusive apartment building that will feature 20 units for people who have disabilities and 51 units for the general public. Prior to becoming E.D. of SHS and PEHS, he spent 17 years as an educator in both public and independent school settings. He is currently the Vice President of the BC CEO Network Board and a Director of the Surrey Board of Trade.

Doug is interested in being part of the mentorship program because he has greatly valued the mentors in his life and sees the need for creative and innovative young people to be involved in social services, education, and not-for-profit organizations as leadership professionals or Board members.
