Director of Marketing for Fresh Grade

Kemp Edmonds took the long way around after graduating in 2000. Kemp attended McGill, worked in Whistler, London and the Czech Republic before returning to Vancouver to run corporate team building events for Fortune 500 companies. Following this Kemp worked for Bell Canada as they expanded into Western Canada, opening and operating Bell's flagship downtown Vancouver locations. Kemp returned to BCIT, where upon graduation, he tweeted his way to a job with BCIT's Marketing department while developing and teaching the first Social Media programs and courses at BCIT. Following this experience he began building a consultancy specializing in holistic online marketing, branding and communications which continues to operate in limited capacity today. Kemp has acted as an expert legal witness in multiple cases in Canada regarding labour law, copyright and defamation. In 2011 Kemp joined Hootsuite helping build the company from 25 employees in Vancouver to more than 900 employees in more than five global offices. He speaks to audiences on online communications and marketing strategy, the politics of social networks, digital law and culture. Kemp currently works at FreshGrade, a platform revolutionizing education and communications, where he is Director of Marketing. Kemp can be found on kempedmonds.com, chopping wood on small islands in the Howe Sound and documenting life with his wife and son.
