On Monday, March 31st, it will be Day 1 and the blocks will be B-E-C/D-A.Tuesday, April 1 will be Day 2 and the blocks will be G-H/I-J-F. Time of day can have a strong impact on learning for some students (and teachers).
Rotating blocks enables students to learn different subjects at different times of the day to spread both the opportunities and challenges of specific times of day.
This is an important reminder that after Spring Break, the Senior School will have a new bell schedule. In order to avoid confusion, we will continue with the blocks being named/coded ABCDE and FGHIJ on their respective days. However, please note that C and D will be combined into C/D (and H and I into H/I) on some documents where appropriate. As well, C/D and H/I will rotate in the timetable, since they are no longer attached to the lunch block.
Students, please arrive a few minutes earlier than usual on Monday, March 31st so that you are able to get to your class on time.
Spring Uniforms & Dress Code Reminders
Upon our return from Spring Break on Monday, March 31st, students are invited to wear the St. George’s School Spring Uniform. The Spring Uniform consists of a tucked-in white St. George’s polo shirt (black polo for grads), grey pants, and grey socks. Shorts that are worn must be hemmed and accompanied with knee-high grey socks. A black belt and black dress shoes should be worn as part of the uniform. Students are required to wear their blue blazers for Assemblies and special events. HOW the uniform is worn, is as important as WHAT is worn. Students who are unsure of whether or not their uniform is consistent with the School's guidelines should see their Head of Grade or a School Administrator for confirmation. Students found in repeated violation of the Student Dress Code will be subject to school disciplinary action.
Please note that students are expected to wear their blazers to all school assemblies, unless otherwise stated. Formal events during Term 3, such as our Middle and Senior School Awards Days, require students to be dressed in their #1 School Uniforms (Standard Dress with blazers).

Recap Of The 2025 Inaugural Student Leadership Conference
This past weekend, St. George’s School welcomed over 100 students in Grades 10 and 11 from public and independent schools across BC for the first edition of the Ignite Student Leadership Conference. Over two days, students explored topics in self-awareness, ethical decision-making, community impact, and communication skills under the theme of “The Leader In You” while connecting with like-minded peers.
Through engaging workshops and keynotes, students heard from renowned activists, athletes, educators, and business leaders, including Dr. Shimi Kang, author of The Tech Solution: Creating Healthy Habits for Kids Growing up in a Digital World, and Ms. Andrea Neil, former coach for the Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team and the first woman soccer player inducted to Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. The conference also provided a unique opportunity for over a dozen faculty and staff from across the province to come together to discuss student leadership at their schools. After a weekend of insightful collaborations, practical skill-building sessions, and energizing team activities, there was no doubt that the delegates left with fond memories and a newfound leadership spark.
To see some of the highlights of the 2025 Ignite Conference, check out this “lit” closing video courtesy of Ivan S. ‘25 and Isaac L. ‘25:
The Ignite Conference is a brand new initiative spearheaded by a team of St. George’s Student Leaders in Grades 10–12, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s conference a success. In particular, we would like to thank our faculty sponsors, Ms. McLean, Ms. Darwin, and Mr. Gurr as well as the 20+ students who volunteered their time last weekend. Your enthusiasm, dedication, and care fuelled our flame, and we could not be more thankful.

St. George's School At The Reach Intermediate Championships
On Friday, March 7th, 15 schools from across Metro Vancouver got together at McMath Secondary to compete in the 2025 Intermediate Provincial School Reach Championships.
The six-member team of Allen D. ‘28, Parnav K. ‘28, Ethan S. ‘28, Max W. ‘28, Ethan Y. ‘28, and Shane Z. ‘28 had only one loss in league play, leading up to the Provincials. They threw down the gauntlet by finishing first in their section with a perfect four-win run, defeating:
Eric Hamber 440-160
Churchill 350-250
Thompson 400-190
Collingwood 290-190
That earned them the top seed in the playoffs and a match against Choice, which they took 370-110.
In the Semi-Finals, they were pushed harder by the Prince of Wales but came out on the top 310-240 in their closest match up to that point.
That set up a Championship match between the two undefeated schools: St. George’s School and Fraser Heights. The boys, who had been very strong all afternoon and evening, saved their best for last and overwhelmed Fraser Heights 460-250. The comment from the Fraser Heights Team: “They are so fast!”
Allen D. ‘28 came within one point of being the tournament MVP. He answered 69 questions correctly, just one behind Nikhil K. of Van Tech who scored 70. Allen was not only MVP runner-up but was named to the All-BC First Team. However, the Saints win was a true team effort with the rest of the squad, averaging just under 40 correct answers in the event. Well done, Boys!
Athletics Updates
The CSSHL U18 Prep Team is the final team from the Winter season that is still in action, as they compete in Penticton at their League Championship Playoffs. Basketball
Varsity
The Varsity Team finished an unbelievable run at the BCSS AAAA Provincial Championships as Bronze Medalists! The team lost a heartbreaker in the Semi-finals to the eventual tournament champions, Spectrum, by two points, but the story of the game was a 53-point performance from Dorian G. ‘25 and some late-game heroic shooting from Willem U. ‘27 that gave them a chance to upset the one-seed down to the last second. The boys fought hard in the Bronze medal game, showing their grit after the heartbreaker the night before. Another impressive late-game comeback led by Dorian finished with a buzzer-beater three-pointer and a 78-75 win over Terry Fox. It also sealed up a Tournament MVP award for Dorian, making him the second player ever to win Provincial MVP from a team that did not make the Final, and the first since NBA veteran Kelly Olynyk did it back in 2009. A huge congratulations go out to this entire program, from players to coaches and trainers, on an extremely special season. A massive congratulations and thank you to Coach DaSilva for his ongoing dedication to his team and program.
