Rob McLean '04
As a Portfolio Manager with Richardson GMP, Rob provides access to a comprehensive range of services to help build and protect wealth. A firm believer in ongoing education, he earned the leading industry designation of Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) which is the highest-level portfolio management credential available through the Canadian Securities Institute.
Harnessing expert knowledge and experience, Rob develops customized strategies for personal, corporate and institutional clients . His breadth of understanding, expertise and credentials help ensure sound advice, expert execution and peace of mind for clients who need solutions for broad and complex wealth management needs. Typically strategies encompass investment portfolio management, retirement and estate planning, insurance-based wealth protection as well as business succession.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Rob embody west-coast values and embrace both sides of his Canadian and immigrant heritage. Graduating from UBC with a double focus degree in sciences, Rob see the world as more than just dollars and cents. He am an avid sailor, fisherman and rock-climber and work hard to live a healthy and active lifestyle. As a road cyclist, he also participates in the annual Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation.
As an advocate for financial literacy, Rob am involved with educating youth on the topics of financial literacy and fiscal responsibility. Through seminars, classroom presentations and mentorship opportunities, he look to engage with all levels of high school and university students.
Actively supporting local sports and charities, you can often find Rob at fundraisers and community events throughout the greater Vancouver area.
He has had the great privilege of strong mentorship in his developmental years and wishes to give the same opportunities and knowledge to those that follow. In giving back to the community that gave Rob so much, he hope to inspire the rising stars to drive change and make the world a better place than they found it. If he can help anyone make more educated decisions and increase the impact of their lives, then he views that his time is well spent.
