  • School Buses

The School runs a system of eight bus routes that are available for students at no additional cost. Pick-up points are spread across Metro Vancouver, including Vancouver, Burnaby, the North Shore, Richmond, New Westminster, and White Rock. The Midtown, Burnaby, New Westminster, North Shore, White Rock, Richmond East and Richmond West routes are operated by Thirdwave Bus Services. They can be contacted at 604-247-1221 or after hours at 604-768-3787. The UBC route is operated by St. George’s School.

General questions regarding routes and registration may be directed to St. George's School Transportation Office at 604-221-3618 or

    • Pick-ups and drop-offs operate on a ‘hub’ system to reduce travel time and make the bus system more efficient for everyone.
    • There is no additional cost for the bus service, however, students must register in order to be eligible to ride the bus. You can view a map of our current bus route here.

    Code of Conduct for Students

    • Please arrive at your stop 5 minutes before the scheduled time to allow for safe boarding of the bus.
    • Treat the Bus Driver and your fellow passengers with respect.
    • Always remain seated and wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before getting up to get off at your stop.
    • Keep your voice at a low volume and use appropriate language.
    • Do not yell, throw things or hang any part of your body out of the windows.
    • Keep everything out of the aisle.
    • Do not eat or drink anything on the bus. This is not a rule – it's the law!

When you leave the bus, take all your belongings with you, including garbage. Failure to comply with these rules may result in temporary or permanent suspension from the bus service.

Once registration is open, the Bus Registration Form will appear in your Parent Portal.
  • Biking and Walking

We encourage students to commute to school by walking or bicycling, both of which promote a healthy use of our bodies. The School provides covered bicycle storage at both campuses.

Tools and pumps for minor bike repairs are also available at the bike parking area at each campus. Students have access to end-of-trip facilities (showers and lockers) in the school change rooms.

Electric motor-assisted cycles (with pedals), and electric scooter with motors of less than 500 watts, and a maximum speed of 32km/h or less, may be ridden to school by students 16 years of age or older, in accordance with ICBC regulations.  More information is available at
  • Translink Buses

The school subsidizes TransLink Compass Card Passes for students who take the TransLink bus to/from school at least three days per week.  If you meet this criteria, please submit your Compass Card receipt to the Business Office for a 35% reimbursement.
  • Carpooling

Students who are unable to walk, cycle, or take the bus are encouraged to arrange carpools with multiple students. High Occupancy (HoV) vehicles are invited to drop off on the Senior School Campus.
  • Driving

If you must, on occasion, drive your son to school, please abide by the following:

    Driving in the Neighbourhood

Please be respectful of other road users and pay particular attention to the safety of cyclists and pedestrians.  Note the following:

    • A 30 km/h speed limit applies on West 29th Ave, around Chaldecott Park,  along West 33rd beside Memorial West Park, and along Camosun Street beside Southlands School.
    • Abide by all street signage. Note: 3-minute stopping only in front of schools - no parking or extended waiting.
    • No U-turns on West 29th Ave - use the round-about west of the Senior School at Kevin Place.
    • Always stop for pedestrians.
    • Be aware that West 29th Ave is a designated bike-route – use extreme caution.
    • Be courteous to other drivers on narrow roads that only accommodate a single lane of traffic - please pull over and wait your turn.

    Automobile drop-off and pick-up

The following drop-off and pick-up areas have been designated to maximize student safety and minimize traffic congestion.

    Junior School

    • Grades 1-3: Drop off and pick up in the driveway loop, adjacent to the primary playground. Or, park on street, where signage permits, and walk in.
    • Grades 4-5: Drop off and pick up on West 29th Avenue. Note there is “3-minute stopping only” zone in front of the school.
    • Grades 6-7: Drop off and pick up at Chaldecott Park. A crossing guard is provided to assist students across West 27th Avenue and Wallace Street. Students who have not been picked up by 3:45 pm will be walked back to the main school entrance.
    • Please do not drop-off and pick-up on Wallace Street!

    Senior School

    • Grades 8-9: Drop off and pick up on West 29th Avenue, in front of the school. It is preferred that you drop off 1-2 blocks away and allow your son to walk to school.
    • Grades 10-12: Drop off and pick up along Camosun Street or West 29th Avenue, east of the School.
    • Access to the Senior School campus driveway is reserved for permit-holders or carpool (2 or more students) drop-off only.
  • Students Driving to School

Driving an automobile to school is a privilege reserved for students in Grades 11 and 12, subject to the restrictions of the Province’s graduated driver program.

    • Any student wishing to drive to school must follow the vehicle registration procedure with the Associate Principal, Student Life.
    • Student vehicles must be parked on the street, not in the school parking lot.
    • Students who drive or park irresponsibility will have driving privileges revoked.

    Motorcycles and motorized scooters/skateboards

For student safety, motorcycles, including Limited Speed Motorcycles requiring a driver’s license, may not be driven to/from School. Motorized scooters, skateboards and pocket bikes are not legal on BC roads or sidewalks and therefore may not be driven or ridden to School.
