The Track and Field Program is one of St. George's oldest athletic programs, dating back to the opening of the school in 1930. The goal of the program is to provide an opportunity for students to grow and explore their passion for sports through competition. The program builds on the School’s Core Values, with a focus on respect, responsibility, resilience, and humility.
The program offers opportunities to many student-athletes due to the vast number of events available. The team consistently sends multiple athletes to the BC Championships and has enjoyed success at the Provincial level. The Track & Field program is partnered with UBC, and trains at both UBC campus and at St. George's School. Training occurs Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, and additional practices may be made available. The season consists of four regular competitions followed by the Zone Finals. Qualifying members of the team then compete in the BC Championships hosted at the end of May.
As a competitive program, the team can only carry a set number of students depending on available coaching and supervision. All students who are part of the team are required to wear the school singlet and shorts, which are available at the School Store.
