Tryouts occur at University Golf Club in early March and are open to boys in Grades 8 – 12. Students will have the opportunity to play 9, 18, or 27 holes and this will depend on their performance. Additional sessions may occur at the driving range. Prior to the on-course session, each boy will participate in a short interview to determine his level of interest and experience.
Any boy interested in representing the school golf team will be required to try out regardless of his team status the previous season.
Team selections are generally finalized prior to spring break. The size of the team ranges from 18-24 student-athletes distributed between Grades 8–12. Selection is based on multiple criteria which include character, commitment, competitiveness, ability, potential, and passion for the game. Characteristically, boys who are successful in making the team play golf 8–10 months per year.
Team members will be expected to make a full commitment to the program. This will include one team training session per week and 1-2 matches per week.
The competitive season runs from early April to late May. Matches are 18 holes of stroke-play format and occur Monday through Thursday. Anywhere from 4 – 7 student-athletes will represent St. George’s at a match.

Tours generally occur during spring break and have taken place in the following locations:
