Sportsman of the Year (Grades 8–12)

Awarded to the athlete who shows excellent sportsmanship, attitude, effort, overall athletic performance, and achievement. The athlete has good motivation and reason for being involved in sport, shows special attributes, and presents himself with grace and decorum in the school and in the sport/community. He participates in multiple sports over the course of the year, continually setting a positive example for his team and participants. His overall athleticism is commendable as demonstrated through a number of sports.

The Maitland Cup

Presented by the R. L. Maitland family in 1944, it is awarded to the boy who in the opinion of his fellows is the best player and sportsman on the First XV Rugby Team.

Saints Shield

In honour of Mr. Bud Patel’s significant commitment and contribution to the rugby program, this is rewarded to the best defensive player in senior rugby. This player is selfless and committed to all aspects of defence. He exemplifies the core values of St. George’s Rugby.

Nigel R. L. Toy Award

Awarded to the St. George’s Senior Student/Athlete who excels in Academics, School/Community Service involvement, and Athletics.

Darrell Cursons Cup

This award is presented in recognition of the commitment Darrell Cursons made to our Athletics program. This trophy is awarded to the student who has made the greatest contribution through service and volunteer work. This award recognizes the dedication of our student volunteers who have been involved in scorekeeping and/or officiating.

Athletic Director's Cup

This trophy is awarded to a first-year faculty member that has made an outstanding contribution to the Athletics program.

Stancombe-Toy Trophy

Awarded to the athlete who displays courage, determination, and the ability to overcome adversity.
