Mike is the director of a local real estate company, Strand Development, which specializes in real estate acquisitions, management, finance and development. Mike formed Strand Development after having spent four years with Onni Group as a Senior Development Manager where he was responsible for managing the development of eleven sites across the Lower Mainland over his tenure comprising over 1,500 residential units and totaling over 2 million square feet of residential floor area plus approximately 800,000 square feet of commercial floor area. Subsequently, Mike managed the acquisitions, development and lending business for Dayhu for two years before starting Strand Development.

He has also represented his country in rugby on a provincial and national level. Some of Mike's most rewarding life experiences have been realized through volunteer opportunities; namely with youth with a Mission in Guatemala, as a Clinton Foundation intern serving in New York City and Africa, and as a teacher at Harambee Christian Center in Pasadena, California. Realizing the importance of organization, planning and leadership in the success of volunteer initiatives, he also serves on the boards of two local, youth-oriented charities: Youth Education Farms and Face of Today. His is also a dedicated committee member with the St. Paul's Foundation’s Young Leaders.

Mike graduated from St. George's in 2004 as a "Lifer" and went on to complete his undergraduate studies at the University of Victoria.

Having benefited immensely from strong mentorship in both personal and professional aspects of his own life, Mike sees the Georgian Mentoring Program as not only a way to give back to a school that gave him so much, but also as an opportunity to channel some of the wisdom that was so generously imparted upon him to the next generation of Georgians.
