I graduated from St. George’s in 2001 to pursue rowing and electrical engineering at Harvard College. There, I rowed alongside the first and second varsity lightweight crews and was elected as “LP”, tasked with generating enthusiasm and maintaining camaraderie within the crew. Surprisingly, after obtaining summer employment at several engineering consulting firms, I decided this route of work was not ideally suited to me and I subsequently enrolled in UBC medical school. I graduated medical school in 2014 and am currently in my second year of specialty residency training in Emergency Medicine at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.

Outside of work, I enjoy leveraging skills learned during Discovery 10, spending ~25 nights a year backpacking in the outdoors. Men’s league hockey, telemark skiing, and cycling round out my current athletic endeavours.

I look forward to mentoring younger Georgians as they explore their career interests and transition to post-university life. My foray into engineering and then medicine was marked by numerous surprises that disrupted meaningful career planning; I would have benefited significantly from the experience and wisdom of a mentor who had recently faced similar circumstances and decisions. I’m eager to share stories of my mistakes so you can avoid them!
