I found my creative passion while in Grade 8 in the darkroom, learning to properly develop 35mm film. Thanks to the support of Staff and peers, I chose to do my Bachelor of Design at the Nova Scotia College of Art + Design (NSCAD) in Halifax. NSCAD taught me the design process and the importance of empathetic research in user-centred design.

Once I graduated from NSCAD in 2010, I landed the job of being the in-house Graphic Designer at Vancouver’s largest privately-owned architectural firm, Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership (MCM) (www.MCMParchitects.com). At MCM, I’m in charge of all City submissions (Rezoning Submission Booklets, Development Permit Booklets, Open Houses), the company’s marketing material, website updates, project photography, and have turned into the head of Office Culture, where I organize staff events such as Bowling Nights, Summer Outings, and the Summer Softball Team. Out of the office, I curate an Instagram account devoted to sharing architectural photography I have taken and archives I have sourced from the City’s Archives.

Highlights while at Saints: Senior School Prefect, 2005; Sports Captain; Junior School Prefect, 2000; Freddie Award + Scholarship, for promise in both the Arts + Athletics, 2005; Ice Hockey Provincial Champions, 2004; Rugby Provincial Champions, 2004; Rugby Sevens Provincial Champions, 2005; Rugby Provincial Champions, 2005.

I’m excited about this Mentor Program. I believe St. George’s has the best Art program in the country. Its state-of-the-art facilities, led by passionate staff that practice their craft, make for inspiring setting to realize one’s creativity. Once out of Saints, and away from the facilities and staff, it can be hard to stay inspired. I’m hoping, with my time invested in the program, I can keep the Mentee inspired and push through to where they want to go.
