Mark Latham '70

Mark Latham is a financial economist and founder of Votermedia.org (cv: linkedin.com/in/marklatham; Twitter: @votermedia). He holds a master's degree in finance from UBC and a PhD in finance from MIT. He was assistant professor of finance at U C Berkeley, and a derivatives arbitrageur on Wall Street. He left Wall Street in 1995 to work on reforming corporations. This project has expanded to include reform of democracies and co-ops by developing online voter info systems. He blogs about democratic reform at votermedia.blogspot.ca. In 2009 the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission appointed Mark to their post-financial-crisis Investor Advisory Committee, to represent individual investors.

Why I'd like to become a mentor: The Georgian Mentoring Program can be a networking opportunity both for younger Georgians and for us older Georgians. I'll be happy to trade some advice for the chance to see it applied with youthful energy and enthusiasm. Ideas are cheap; execution is everything!
