Adam Goldenberg '04

Adam holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was a Kirby Simon Human Rights Fellow, and a B.A. in Social Studies with High Honours from Harvard University, where he was a John Harvard Scholar and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honour society. He is called to the bar in New York and will join McCarthy Tétrault LLP's Litigation Group in Toronto in September 2015.

From 2009-2011, Adam served as chief speechwriter to the Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament of Canada. His commentary on law and public affairs has appeared in the Yale Journal of International Law, the Michigan State International Law Review, The Globe and Mail, The National Post, The Toronto Star, The Ottawa Citizen, Slate, Maclean's, The Canadian Jewish News, and on CBC News: The National.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Adam is the co-founder of
Teach For Canada, a non-profit organization that works with schools in remote communities to recruit, prepare, and retain outstanding teachers.

Adam was selected to be an
Action Canada Fellow in 2010, and was recognized as a Leader To Be Proud Of by Out On Bay Street, an LGBT advocacy organization, in 2014. He lives in Toronto.

Why I decided to participate: Because I was lucky enough, in high school and university, to have parents and mentors who insisted that I choose to do things that I knew would be exciting and personally fulfilling, even if I didn't know how they would all fit into some kind of best-laid plan for the rest of my life. It's incredibly valuable advice, though it's often hard to follow. I'm keen to pay it forward.
