Mike Smith '96

Mike Smith is a Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor by day as well as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and certified Professional Art Therapist by night, possessing over 10 years of work experience within the community counselling and mental health fields. Mike is a relationship oriented manager and therapist with a theoretical foundation based in attachment theory combined with a humanistic and systemic approach.  Mike provides individual and family therapy to adults, adolescents, and children struggling with PTSD, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss and work/school stress, while strengthening and building their Emotional Intelligence.

Why he wants to be a mentor: He feels like it is his obligation to give back to those that are interested in the counselling profession. He feels passionate about helping people become really good at helping others with their struggles. Otherwise he is just contributing to the problem and not making the positive impact on society that he would like to make.
