St. George's Junior School Cross Country program is open to all Grade 3 to 7 boys.
Typically, the team draws 60-70 athletes to practices and meets over the course of the
season. The program stretches over seven weeks, from the second week in September
to the last week of October. Cross Country running develops a strong endurance base
which greatly contributes to success in other sports.
During the season, the boys have the opportunity to compete in up to five different
meets. Most of the meets take place on the weekend in various locations all over the
Lower Mainland. The final meet is the ISEA Championships and the boys are selected
to this team based on the criteria of (1) competitiveness, (2) attendance at other meets,
and (3) attendance at practices. Practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday from
7:10 – 7:50am and every Wednesday from 3:30 – 4:10pm.
