What is Advancement?
The purpose of the Advancement Office is to connect the School to its constituents by way of effective communications, the encouragement of broad-based participation in the life of the School and through the creation and sharing of a strong culture of philanthropy. Our primary constituent audience includes approximately 1160 current families, more than 5700 Old Boys actively listed in our database, and 250 faculty and staff.
Fundraising at Saints
Strengthening a culture of philanthropy at the School amongst those who believe, as we do, in the value of a Saints’ education is paramount to the long-term success of St. George’s School. Our Strategic Plan and the recently completed Campus Master Plan have identified crucial areas of improvement in facilities and program, which will only be realized through comprehensive fundraising campaigns. As an Independent School, we receive very little Government funding, and must cover our operating costs primarily through tuition and fundraising. As a registered charitable organization, we are able to issue tax receipts for eligible donations, and we offer a wide variety of ways in which to make gifts
that will have maximum benefit for our donors.
Each generation of Saints students has inherited a more enhanced school. The philanthropic support of our School community today complements the generosity of past generations. Regardless of the amount, your gifts reach every student, in meaningful ways, every day; and they help create a diverse learning environment that enriches the learning experience for every boy.
If you are interested in supporting the ONE+ Campaign and would like information on how to make a gift to the School, please contact Nik Williams-Walshe
, Senior Associate Director of Advancement.
SGPA & Georgian involvement
The Advancement Office staff also work very closely with the St. George’s Parents’ Association Board and the Georgian Old Boys’ Board on fundraising events and initiatives, reunions and invaluable volunteer engagement. There are many opportunities for parents and Old Boys to become involved in volunteering at the School, and we would welcome your enquiries if this is of interest.
Our donors are as valued and important to the success of St. George’s as our students and faculty. Donors are current parents and Georgians from all decades, as well as staff and faculty, even students themselves. We take pride in being guided by the Donor Bill of Rights, an internationally accepted guide to ethical treatment of donors, which was developed by trusted professional organizations to which we are affiliated. Communications & Branding
In addition to fundraising on behalf of the School, the Advancement Office is responsible for all internal and external communications initiatives, design and printing, website and social media channels. It also houses the Georgian Relations (Alumni) Office and the School Archives.
Please feel free contact any member of the Advancement Team
with any questions or comments. Our offices are located in both the Junior and Senior School.
