St. George's Annual Fair

Since our sons joined Saints in Grade 6, we have both worked in a variety of volunteer roles throughout St. George’s, and we have found each opportunity a rewarding way to forge deeper connections with other parents, faculty and staff, and our own children. However, for us, nothing compares to Fair Day when the neighbourhood and school communities stream through the gates of the Junior School to mingle, play, and search for a bargain or treasure. It marks the culmination of months of hard work on the part of the many volunteers and convenors that make this local event possible.

It is very rewarding to see the money raised at the Fair placed into action by the St. George’s Parents Association. A few years ago funds from the Fair were used to help build the Grade 7 neighbourhood, and this year we will help fund the renovation of the fourth floor for the new Grade 5 and 6 neighbourhoods, purchase a school bus, kick-start a new recycling initiative, and support a contingency fund for families in need.

We hope you will join us in putting together the School’s biggest event of the year, whether you have volunteered for the Fair in the past or are brand new to St. George’s. As long-time friends, both with a background in communications, we are very excited to oversee one of the School’s oldest traditions.

Please watch for emails about volunteering in the Sunday eNews or contact us directly at
