The Library is an important part of the school program at St. George's Junior School. It has an excellent collection of approximately 20,000 titles that cover a wide range of non-fiction and fiction topics for students at all age levels. The collection is kept current and includes a range of popular titles in picture books, graphic novels, easy readers and juvenile fiction, as well as a selection of magazines.

Closed at recesses, open during lunch from 11:50 am to 12:20 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Use of library
Students in Grades 1 to 6 have class once a week, which includes 15 to 20 minutes to choose books of interest to them.
The library has flexible scheduling and is used throughout the day by students either in small groups or for class activities. During lunch, the library is a busy place where students read, work in groups, or use the computers for their projects.
Library staff are always glad to see students and provide assistance. We try to make the Library a welcoming place where students can locate the information they are trying to find or read an enjoyable book. If parents have any questions about the library, feel free to contact the librarian.
Checking out books
Students are welcome to check out books anytime during open hours. Students in Grades 3 to 7 may check our a maximum of five books, and students in Grades 1 and 2 may check out two. Parents can come to the Library after school to help their son in selecting books. Books are signed out for two weeks and can be renewed if the student needs more time to finish the book. Students are reminded to return materials when they have finished reading them for others are often waiting for the books.
The library depends upon a reliable team of parent volunteers who take daily shifts to shelve the books that have been returned. If you are interested in volunteering in the library, please contact Ms. Walker!
