St. George's Junior School Cross Country program is open to all Grade 3 to 7 boys. Typically, the team draws 60-70 athletes to practices and meets throughout the season. The program stretches over seven weeks, from the second week in September (Tuesday, September 15th) to the last week of October (Thursday, October 29th). Cross Country running develops a strong endurance base which greatly contributes to success in other sports.
Due to COVID-19, all of our regularly scheduled running Meets have been cancelled this year. Practices are held:
Tuesday 7:30 - 8:10 am - Grade 3 and Grade 7
Wednesday 7:30 - 8:10 am - Grade 6
Thursday from 7:30 – 8:10 am - Grade 4 and Grade 5
Boys are to wear their PHE strip to all practices and will assemble on the Junior School Field or Intermediate Playground depending on their ‘learning group’ (coaches will provide more details during the first week of practices).
The School and PHE/Athletics department are making sure that all public health-related protocols and procedures all followed to the fullest extent.
