We welcome applications for all grades at the School. Our main intake points are Kindergarten, Grades 4, 6, and 8.

The Application Process

  • Step 1 | Submit online application

    Please complete the online application and all checklist items. Supplemental materials (report cards, character reference, etc.) can be submitted afterward so do not delay submission of the online application form. Please let us know if you have any questions.
     
     
    Application Deadlines:
    Grades K-12: Monday, November 15, 2021*
     
    * Late applications may be accepted, please email junioradmissions@stgeorges.bc.ca (applying to K - Grade 7) or senioradmissions@stgeorges.bc.ca (applying to Grades 8-12) for further details.

    Financial Aid is available for Grades 6–12. The deadline to apply for Financial Assistance is December 1, 2021.
  • Step 2 | Submit supporting documentation

    Kindergarten Requirements:

    • Any progress reports from daycare or preschool if received.
    • Character Reference Form (available online in the parent portal checklist)
      • Any additional documents as outlined and agreed to in the online application
      All other Grade requirements: 

      • Final report cards from the past two years
      • Current report cards (as you receive them)
      • Character Reference Form (available online in the application)
        • Our first choice for a referee should be a classroom teacher (current or previous). Our second choice would be a coach, youth group director, cub-leader, or someone who interacts with this child in a social setting. We prefer not to receive references from one-to-one tutors or family friends.
      • Any additional documents as outlined and agreed to in the online application

      Please note:
      o
      nly the requested documents will be reviewed in order to maintain consistency and fairness for all applicants. Please do not send additional items such as certificates, photos or additional reference letters. These items will be discarded.
    • Step 3 | Interviews

      Kindergarten Parent Interviews: Shortlisted parents will be invited for virtual interviews upon completion of assessment.
       
      Grades 1-3: Non-intake year candidates will be assessed in late March. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.
      Grades 4: After an application has been received for most intake years, you will receive an email invitation to attend a virtual student and parent interview.*
       
      Grades  5: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews in January. All checklist items must be completed by December 1, 2021. 

      Grade 6 and 7: After an application has been received, Grade 6 and 7 applicants will be invited to self-schedule a group interview. Once every applicant has completed the group interview, a small number of candidates will be shortlisted and invited back for a student and parent interview.

      Grades 8: After an application has been received for most intake years, you will receive an email invitation to attend a virtual student and parent interview.*
       
      Grade 9: January 2022 - selected candidates will be invited for virtual student and parent interviews, so please ensure to have all items on your checklist complete before the deadline to be considered.

      Grades 10-11: March  2022 - selected candidates will be invited for virtual student and parent interviews, so please ensure to have all items on your checklist complete before the deadline to be considered.
      *Late applications may have a different process
    • Step 4 | Complete testing

      Kindergarten: In-house group assessment: Students applying to Kindergarten will be invited to self-schedule a testing date between January 3-7, 2022 upon receipt of the online application. Testing dates are offered on a first come, first served basis.

      Grades 1–3: In-house testing by emailed invitation. Testing is subject to space availability and will take place in late spring (March-May).

      Grades 4–5: Write the Elementary level SSAT at any test location.

      Applicants to Grades 4 and 5 must register for an Elementary Level SSAT at any SSAT Test Center. St. George's School may offer some testing options to applicants, with further details to be communicated directly to the families when an application is received. Testing spaces will be limited, so we encourage families to submit applications as soon as possible if they wish to test on-site.
       
      Grades 6-12: Write the Middle or Upper Level SSAT. Students can register to take the test in person at an SSAT test center, online with the SSAT at home for residents of Canada or the USA, or take the test at any designated Prometric Test Centre. Please make sure to designate St. George's School as a score recipient.
       
      International applicants (outside of Canada/USA) must write the SSAT at any test location. Please do not hesitate to register for the SSAT as dates fill up fast.
       
      Grades 4, 6-12 applicant SSAT scores are accepted from all August through December 2021 test dates. 
       
      * Late applicants should take SSAT as soon as possible to avoid further delays with your application.
    • Step 5 | Admission decision

      • Kindergarten: February 4, 2022
      • Grade 4 and 6: March 4, 2022
      • Grade 8: February 23, 2022
      • Non-Intake Years: Rolling through late April
      Applicants will receive one of three decisions: acceptance, wait pool, or decline. Applicants applying for Financial Assistance will also receive the outcome at the time of decision.
