Apply to St. George’s as a Boarding Student

The boarding program at St. George’s School is offered to students in Grades 8–12.

Intake numbers:

  • Grade 8 (15 spaces)
  • Grade 9 (15 spaces)
  • Grade 10 (15 spaces)
  • Grade 11 (10 spaces)
  • Grade 12 (limited consideration)

The Application Process

  • Step 1 | Submit online application

    Submit the online application form and pay the $25 application fee.
    The application for September 2021 will launch around the beginning of September 2020.

    (Gateway to Prep School and SAO common applications are also accepted.)

    Application Deadline for 2021-22 School Year:

    Early Decision: December 2, 2020
    Regular Decision: February 3, 2021
    Late Applications: Accepted on a rolling basis

    Financial Assistance is available for Grades 8-12. The deadline to apply for Financial Assistance is February 1, 2021.

    Please complete the online application and all checklist items. Supplemental materials (report cards, character reference, etc.) can be submitted afterwards so do not delay submission of the online application form. Please let us know if you have any questions.
  • Step 2 | Submit supporting documentation

    Required:
    • Final report cards from the past two years
    • Current report cards
    • Character Reference Form
    • Any additional documents as outlined and agreed to in the online application

    Please note: only the requested documents will be reviewed in order to maintain consistency and fairness for all applicants. Please do not send additional items such as certificates, photos or additional reference letters. These items will be discarded.
     
  • Step 3 | Interviews

    After your application has been submitted, you will receive an invitation by email to attend a student and parent interview. This interview is by appointment and will be conducted online using Zoom or Google Hangouts
  • Step 4 | Complete testing

    • Canadian and USA Residents: Applicants must register for the Middle or Upper-Level SSAT at Home at ssat.org  or take the test at any designated Prometric Test Centre.
      • Early Decision: SSAT must be taken prior to December 1. 
      • Regular Decision: SSAT scores are accepted from tests taken from September 2020 through February 2021.

    • International Residents (outside of Canada or USA): Applicants must register for the Middle or Upper-Level SSAT at an SSAT Test Center. To find a test centre near you, please visit ssat.org
    • Once you have registered for an SSAT test date, be sure to designate St. George’s School (BC) as a score recipient so we receive the results automatically when released. 
    • Grade 10–12 applicants may submit their PSAT, SAT, or ACT results in place of SSAT. Please email senioradmissions@stgeorges.bc.ca if you select this option.
      Please note testing deadlines below:
    • Early Decision: SSAT must be taken prior to December 1.
    • Regular Decision: SSAT scores are accepted from tests taken from September 2020 through February 2021. 

    *Please do not hesitate in registering for SSAT as test dates have limited capacity and fill up fast. If the SSAT is unavailable in your region, please contact our admissions office at senioradmissions@stgeorges.bc.ca
  • Step 5 | Admission decision

    Boarding decisions are made on a rolling basis. Applicants will receive one of three decisions: acceptance, wait pool, or decline. Families must respond to an Offer of Acceptance within 10 days. If you are waitlisted, you must confirm your position on the waitlist. The waitlist expires on September 1st if an offer cannot be made. There is no action required if you are not a successful applicant.
     
    Applicants applying for Financial Assistance will also receive the outcome at the time of decision.

    Boarding decisions are made on a rolling basis.  All applications submitted prior to February 1, 2021, will receive a decision by March 2021.
