Bhutan Global Leadership Scholarships
Effective May, 2017, The Scholarship and Financial Aid Committee of St. George’s School is pleased to announce the creation of Global Leadership Scholarships to be awarded to mission-appropriate students who are natural-born citizens of the Kingdom of Bhutan.
What are Bhutan Global Leadership Scholarships?
Scholarships awarded to Grade 11 students who are natural-born citizens of the Kingdom of Bhutan.
What do these scholarships include?
They include return-airfare, tuition, room and board, various school uniforms, and access to funds for all school-sponsored co-curricular activities and trips.
Who is eligible to apply for these scholarships?
These scholarships are open to boarding-applicants to St. George’s School who are natural-born citizens of the Kingdom of Bhutan and who are students with:
· Strong academic record;
· Strong written and oral command of the English language;
· Strong interpersonal skills (EQ);
· A commitment to the School’s Core Values— empathy, humility, integrity, respect,
responsibility and resilience;
· Demonstrated previous success in sports, arts, community service and leadership;
· Demonstrated interests outside of the classroom.
Are these scholarships renewable?
Yes. These are offered in perpetuity (Grades 11 and 12) as long as the student remains
an active member of the St. George’s Community.
How will you select the scholarship winners?
Scholarships will be awarded based on all documentation requested, including:
Submission of an APPLICATION (available on our website)
Submission of a SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION (available on our website)
Submission of LAST YEAR’S FINAL AND THIS YEAR’S MOST RECENT TRANSCRIPTS
Completion of an individual INTERVIEW with a member of our Staff
Completion of all ENTRANCE TESTING (Will be administered in Bhutan)
What is the deadline to submit a Scholarship Application?
FOR YEAR 1: (ENTRY 2017): Applications must be submitted by MAY 21
FOR FUTURE YEARS: Applications must be submitted by DECEMBER 15
A member of the School’s administration will visit Bhutan each January to interview and administer an assessment test to each applicant.
