FAQ

List of 4 items.

  • Who is eligible?

All students in grades 6 – 12 are eligible to apply for financial aid.

  • How are decisions made?

While AFS provides a financial analysis, it is only a recommendation to the School. The amount of aid awarded is determined by The St. George’s School Financial Aid Committee with consideration of the recommendation of AFS.

  • Is there a cost to apply?

No; St. George’s School assumes all costs associated with an AFS application.
  • Is financial aid merit-based?

No. Financial aid is needs-based and is provided on the basis of a family’s financial circumstances and is reviewed annually. The School does, however, offer a few select, merit-based Entrance Scholarships which are independent of demonstrated financial need.
Please note: Financial information submitted by families is kept strictly confidential and is known only to the Financial Aid Committee. Final award amounts are shared with select staff as required for accounting and athletic eligibility. If a need arises for additional disclosure, the financial aid committee will contact the family to obtain explicit permission.
