  • Grade 5

The Grade 5 soccer team consists of over 40 boys divided into four squads. The Grade 5 soccer games are played with 7 players and are 30 minutes in length. Each team will be equally matched with regard to skill level, and boys will be given equal opportunity to play. The emphasis is on having fun, developing sportsmanlike attitudes and enjoying the game of soccer. The first practice is on the second Friday of the school year. Boys compete primarily in mini tournaments in the local ISEA league throughout the term. For all the games the boys are expected to bring their full complement of soccer wear including their school track suit. Soccer finishes at the end of October. The team practices two times per week: Tuesdays (3:30 – 4:30), and Fridays (3:30 – 4:30). Attendance is mandatory for both practices in order to play on the team.
  • Grade 6

Grade 6 Soccer Teams are selected after three tryouts in early September. 32 boys are selected and divided in two teams coached by Mr. Bepple and Ms. Watts. Practices are held every Tuesday before lunch (Game Period) and every Thursday after school (3:30 - 4:30pm). The season ends with an ISEA Playday held in late October at St George’ Junior School. Boys are expected to bring their full complement of soccer wear including their school track suit.
  • Grade 7A

Grade 7A Soccer Team is the premier soccer team in the Junior School. After the selection process in early September, fifteen boys are chosen. Competition takes place in the local ISEA league and exhibition matches against local U-13 club teams. The team also represents St. George’s in the CAIS U-13 Boys Soccer Tournament, an annual tournament the Junior School has been associated with since its inception in 1976 and is hosted by CAIS member schools from across the country. St. George’s has performed well in this tournament over the years and has been a champion more than any other participating school (this is an age restricted event).

Junior School soccer season starts on the first week of school in September and ends on the last week of October with the ISEA Tournament. Grade 7A team practices every Monday and Wednesday after school (3:30 - 5:00pm) and every Thursday after lunch (Games Periods). Games are scheduled for weekdays after school or, in the case of the ISEA Tournament, during a school day. CAIS Tournament is an exception. The tournament generally takes place on the third week of October and requires traveling to the host school. Boys on the Grade 7A team are therefore absent from school for the week leading up to the tournament.
All boys selected are expected to adhere to the Player Expectations as outlined in the Prep Book.
  • Grade 7B

Grade 7B Soccer Team runs in coordination with the Grade 7A Soccer Team. After the selection process in early September, sixteen boys are chosen. Competition takes place in the local ISEA League (Division 2).

Junior School soccer season starts on the first week of school in September and ends on the last week of October with the ISEA Tournament. Grade 7B team practices every Wednesday after school (3:30 - 4:30pm) and every Thursday after lunch (Games Periods). Games are scheduled for weekdays after school or, in the case of the ISEA Tournament, during a school day. Boys are expected to bring their full complement of soccer wear including their school track suit.
